Fallin’ for Pilates

As we end 2021 and begin 2022 we hear our friends and family talking about lofty goals, well intentions and resolutions.

For the month of love, why not talk about love for pilates. Pilates tends to be something most fall into opposed to seeking it out. Normally from prior injuries, or being given a recommendation from a health care provider. What most don’t know is how positive Pilates is for the mind and body which keeps most who do find Pilates practising for years to come.

The basic concepts of Pilates without getting too technical are centering the body, breath work and movement. By working from the inside out and the use of proper breath work one becomes centered and tensions release as we align and work the body. The more often we do this, we gain strength in the body and clarity in our mind. We suddenly we feel amazing, and notice more energy in our day to day life.

One of Joseph Pilates most famous quotes, “You will feel better in ten sessions, look better in twenty sessions, and have a completely new body in thirty sessions.”

Falling in love with Pilates comes pretty easy. Each class you learn about your body a little more and there is always a new challenge to conquer with proper form or breath work to keep one coming back to it. Being able to come to an environment with no judgement, safe and friendly is where our heart lies with Modern Pilates and what we want to give to our clients is this amazing experience of what Pilates can do for you in a space where you can explore and ask questions along the way.
