Fitness has been an integral part of my life for 20, 10, and even 5 years ago when Modern Pilates was started. I make sure to work out regardless of whether I’ve had a great day or a bad day. It’s a lifelong lifestyle that I hope to maintain for many years to come.
I rediscovered Pilates after the birth of my second child, just 12 months after my first. My body was sore and tired not only from two close pregnancies but also from the chemotherapy and radiation treatments I underwent a year prior to my first child, which left me with significant aches and pains. Some days, even walking was painful, and I was unable to do the high-intensity workouts I once loved. When I walked into a Pilates studio, I fell in love all over again. At that point, with two young children at home, I knew I needed something extra for myself. The rest, as they say, is history.
Pilates is truly for everybody, and I find immense motivation in sharing that with others. Along this path, I have also transformed my perspective on fitness and retrained my brain regarding fitness culture. I engage in it because I love it, not to fit into a dress or earn a snack. Our bodies are vessels for our souls that carry us through this amazing life. I now allow myself the grace to skip days and move in ways that feel good and right for me.
Over the past five years of starting this business and navigating all of its ups and downs, the most rewarding part has been sharing this method and watching clients feel great about themselves and Pilates. Like the beginning stages of any business, it is not always easy, but with consistency and repetition comes progress, and slowly but surely, you achieve success, like a Pilates journey!
I hope to see you on the mat.

With 15 years in the fitness and Pilates industry, I have always been passionate about health, movement and wellness. I enjoy working with clients to help them achieve their fitness goals or work through any injuries to gain strength, as Pilates has done for me.
I have always loved fitness and at a young age I channelled that by playing hockey for many years. As I got older I turned to other ways to stay fit and healthy and once I found Pilates I was hooked; my body was transformed and I wanted to share it with the world. After, a corporate career I opened my first Pilates studio at the age of 26. I have been through many ups and downs of life, but one thing has always been a mainstay and that is my Pilates practice. One of my favourite quotes from Joseph Pilates is “Change happens through movement and movement heals” it couldn’t be true as I have experienced it myself and I look forward to sharing it with you!
Over the years, I have obtained the knowledge and expertise to work with clients of all ages and backgrounds. My teaching style is fun, energetic, effective and motivating. Teaching clients the many benefits of Pilates is one of the joys that I look forward to in every class.
I also have a background as a Registered Holistic Nutritionist and enjoy living a healthy lifestyle for myself and family.
Modern Pilates has a wide range of classes for you to choose from, on a schedule that makes sense for you.
